Early American Studies: An Interdisciplinary Journal seeks both traditional articles for its print journal and shorter pieces for its website, EAS Miscellany.

Journal articles: The journal publishes original research on the histories and cultures of North America and the Atlantic world before 1850. The editors welcome contributions from scholars working in a variety of disciplines concerned with early America, including literary studies, history, art history, religious studies, music, philosophy, and material culture, among others. We are especially interested in works that employ interdisciplinary methods or source materials. See author guidelines here.

Website pieces: EAS also publishes blog posts, interviews, reviews, multimedia sources, and other materials that do not fit easily within the printed journal on its website, EAS Miscellany. We are especially interested in pieces that (1) Explore the relationship between the early American past and contemporary issues; (2) Discuss pedagogical approaches to teaching early American studies; or (3) Analyze source materials/methods in an interdisciplinary context. See author guidelines here.
