CFP: Women’s Extra-Literary Writing in Digital Forms

Since its founding, the SSAWW has celebrated the ways in which women’s texts are often extra-literary and can include commonplace books, scrapbooks, cookbooks, prophecies, jotted scraps, and other genres. For this panel sponsored by the Recovery Hub for American Women Writers, we are calling for projects that explore women’s extra-literary writings in digital forms. What are the affordances of digital media for exploring texts like these? What are the possible limitations? Projects may be ready to showcase or only in a conception phase. We would particularly like to discuss the challenges of digital representations of such works.
