New Directions in Carson McCullers Scholarship:
An open topic roundtable session focused on new scholarship on the works of Carson McCullers
The Carson McCullers Society invites abstract submissions for a roundtable panel session focused on new scholarship on the works of Carson McCullers. Panelists will offer short presentations on their works-in-progress, which may include dissertation research, articles, essay collections, or monographs. The roundtable will foster conversation about new directions in McCullers scholarship in the twenty-first century. In particular, the session will explore how McCullers scholarship intersects with new developments in literary and interdisciplinary fields, including LGBTQ+ studies, disability studies, biography, feminist theory and gender studies, and other areas. New scholarship may also focus on the literary and artistic relationships between McCullers and her contemporaries. Please submit abstracts of 150 words and a short bio to Erin Bell, bellee@udmercy.edu, and Kristen Proehl, kproehl@brockport.edu, by January 7, 2025.
