Dear SSAWW friends,
As you look toward the upcoming year, please consider submitting a proposal for the Society for the Study of American Women Writers (SSAWW) panel at the Society of Early Americanists (SEA) Biennial Conference on the campus of the University of Maryland and in various locations in Washington DC on June 8-11, 2023.
Proposals are welcome on any aspect of women’s cultural productions (broadly conceived) in the Americas before 1830.
By October 28, please send me your:
· presentation title and short abstract (150-200 words)
· institutional affiliation and contact information
· short CV
The conference will be in-person, although there may be a hybrid option. Please let me know whether AV or other technology is necessary to your presentation.
Details on the conference can be found at https://www.societyofearlyamericanists.org/conferences/sea-2023-biennial.
You do not need to be a current member of SEA to submit a proposal, but panelists will need to (re-) establish SEA membership before the conference.
Like many of you, I have come to appreciate how meaningful and necessary these intellectual gatherings are to the work we do. I welcome this opportunity to connect with our SEA/SSAWW community and hope you’ll join us in June 2023.
Best,
Mary Eyring
SEA-SSAWW liaison
