We are now only 10 days away from our 2021 Conference in Baltimore.  We look forward to seeing everyone in person and virtually for conference-related events.  Please see below for several important reminders and updates, and watch your email over the next week for other pertinent information for virtual and hybrid panels.

  • Check out our #SSAWW2021 Navigating the Conference page for details on how to download Whova (the conferencing web app), as well as reminders for in-person and virtual attendees.  We’ll update this page with additional details and instructions as the conference nears.
  • Explore our guide to Baltimore
  • WATCH your email for messages from Whova (these will come from the email address – event-noreply@whova.io with one of our conference organizers, Jean Lee Cole, as the sender).  These emails contain important information about learning to use the app, navigating our conference agenda/program, and updating your profile as a speaker and participant.
  • Virtual and Hybrid Panel Chairs and Participants – you will receive an email this week from Whova with a unique link that allows you to access your session to upload materials (paper, powerpoints, short video, as well as Zoom links). If you’re not ready to upload materials yet, please save that email, so you have your link when you need it. We’ll resend the individual links as the conference nears, but please explore these features early, so Whova tech support and conference organizers can field questions early.

I’ll send another email–and probably many more–this week with sign-ups for some exciting events including “Chat with an Editor” and “Chat with a Digital Humanist” (sponsored by the Recovery Hub of American Women Writers), as well as guided tours of Baltimore.

Thank you all for your patience and enthusiasm as the conference approaches.
